In February 1999, Micro founder & CEO Wim Ouboter presented the Kickboard for the first time at ISPO, the largest international sports fair in Munich. The direct positive feedback took away the gigantic echo in the media and was the starting signal for the remarkable world success of the Swiss company. With the Kickboard, Micro revolutionized the way we get around in urban spaces and laid the foundation for the current micromobility trend. 23 years after the successful premiere of the Kickboard at ISPO Munich, Wim Ouboter, together with his sons Oliver and Merlin, presents his latest vision of sustainable and space-saving urban mobility at the same fair.

From kickboard premiere to new mobility vision on four wheels

The Microlino is a light electric vehicle in the EU L7e category. Specially developed for urban environments, the electric vehicle has a top speed of 90 km/h and offers a range of up to 230 kilometers. Two seats and a trunk capacity of 230 liters ensure high everyday usability. More than 35,000 customers have already reserved a Microlino. The first deliveries of a limited "Pioneer Series" have already begun in Switzerland, and in Germany and Spain the first vehicles will roll onto the roads in early 2023. To this end, the Swiss micromobility provider has entered into a strategic partnership with the international automotive retail group Astara.

"We are looking forward to working with Astara, a global company with a long tradition of distributing brands in Europe, Latin America and Asia. We are convinced that with their experience in digital transformation and the new mobility ecosystem, they will be instrumental in the growth of our brand," explains Merlin Ouboter, Co-Founder & CMO of Micro.

First official Microlino test drives in Germany at ISPO Munich

At ISPO Munich, from November 28 - 30, 2022, official test drives with the Microlino will be possible for the first time in Germany. In addition, the new Microlino Spiaggina Concept, which celebrated its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October, can be admired in the ISPO Future Lab, the heart of the trade show. The small series, which will go into production next summer, is inspired by the legendary beach cars of the 1960s, such as the Fiat 600 Jolly or the Citroen Mehari. The Microlino Spiaggina features a white and blue striped fabric roof and is completely open at the sides and rear, providing a pleasant breeze in hot summer weather.

New E-Scooter Range and Chilli Pro Scooter Models

In addition to the Microlino, Micro will also be presenting a completely new e-scooter range at ISPO Munich, as well as stunt scooter models from the Chilli Pro Scooter brand acquired in 2019. Among the new products is the Micro Gladiator, a three-wheeled e-scooter with a large footboard platform that can turn 360 degrees on the spot, making it ideal for use in logistics centers, airports or on company and university campuses.
